Autumn School - Sustainability in the IT Project Lifecycle

This session will consider how the project lifecycle will be impacted by environmental issues, and offer practical guidelines for IT project managers to ensure that sustainability issues are considered during the planning and design stages of any IT project, and carefully monitored during project implementation. Autumn School - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Review

Our autumn school on Environmental Awareness for IT Managers ends with some examples of good environmental practice relating to IT projects which have been taken up by or developed at Fujitsu Services. From this we will go on to consider what a PM can do; the resource implications for sustainable IT project management, including practical guidelines for hardware and software selection, procurement and acquisition, effective asset usage, and subsequent disposal. This final session will also give an opportunity to review the previous sessions, allowing participants to reflect on and draw together their conclusions from the range of issues considered by the Autumn School.

Spam Spam Spam Spam, and How it Means More Viruses

Spam now accounts for almost 90% of all email traffic. The money made from peddling cheap pills on the Internet advertised through spam, is being invested in the development of new strains of malware in order to infect more computers to send more spam and to facilitate further criminal acts. In this presentation, Martin Lee of Symantec, will talk about the current threat environment, how bad guys exploit poor security and what you can do to ensure that you are protected.
